Giving us access, step by step

For your Get Found package. Each step has a 30-second video, then the same steps written out. About 15 minutes on a computer, plus 10 minutes for each directory. You never share a password: you invite us, and you can remove us whenever you like.

Before you start

Sign in to the Google account you use for your business. After you order, we send you the email address to invite. Use that one; we never ask you to type it anywhere else.

1. Your Google Business Profile

  1. Go to business.google.com and open your business.
  2. Open the menu (the three dots), then Business Profile settings.
  3. Choose People and access (on some accounts it is called Managers), then Add.
  4. Paste the email address we sent you, choose the role Manager, and press Invite.

No profile yet? On business.google.com choose Add business and follow the steps. Google then asks you to verify it, usually with a short video or a postcard. That part has to be you, and we tell you what to film.

2. Google Search Console

  1. Go to search.google.com/search-console and pick your website.
  2. At the bottom of the menu, choose Settings, then Users and permissions.
  3. Press Add user, paste the email address we sent you, set the permission to Full, and press Add.

Your website is not in Search Console yet? Reply with the name of the company that runs your website (Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy and so on) and we send the exact step for it.

3. Your directory listings

  1. Open the pack we send you. It has a link for each directory and every detail ready to paste: your name, address, phone, description, services and categories.
  2. For each one, press Claim or Add your business, sign up with your own email, and paste the details from the pack.
  3. Most send a code to your phone or email to confirm it is you. Type it in and you are done.

They stay in your name, so you own them for good.

4. Tell us

  1. Reply to our message with done, and which steps you finished.
  2. Our part is done within 5 working days from then.

Get Found + Search and Everywhere: putting in the pages we write

We never go into your website. We send each page as its own document with the words, the page title and the description, and a short note on where each goes. You or your web person open the page in your website editor, replace the words, and save.
